Dotted around the library are little seats backed up against the wall to accommodate one or two persons, that make for a cosy reading nook. When you are really in need of a break, you can have a little play on the rocking chairs, in the 'Quiet' reading area. There is a considerable-size section for young patrons with lot of moving (read running!) space and 'packing crate' style seating blocks. The shelves are metal racks, much like the Library Orchard, with acrylic separators on moving tracks. Travel, Cookery, Computers, Languages and so on. Located in the Compass One Mall and distributed over 2 levels, we could have almost missed the entrance to the library at Level 3.Īs in the newer libraries, the decor has neater lines, more space and collections shelved mostly by subject eg. After a quick tour through some of their silent study areas and their Media development room, we sat down with the senior librarians for a good discussion. We were met and welcomed by their Deputy University Librarian, Ms Hashimah and Head of Learning Services Ms Kah Wei. We were quickly ushered into their library after an ID check and going through the entry turnstile. We set off for the meeting, after a quick lunch, to be there at 3 pm. Ekta had connected with her contact and set up a meeting for the week of mid-term break.
